"After One2One’s question and answer session with Bek Phillips, one thing was made clear. She is quite the overachiever. The singer from Hebron, Connecticut wrote her first song at age 15. Also a brilliant painter, and poet, Phillips went on to earn a scholarship at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts."
"All the creative arts inspire one another…painting inspires songs to be written and vice versa..it is all connected."-Bek
After great success and many opportunities with her first album "Addiction of the Day" and the edgy image of the all girl group Dear Daddy who were signed to Independent Label ZW Records, Bek is moving forward to a greater calling…truth. "I think being true to where you are, what you like and what you are actually going through is essential to quality writing..and that is what I'm going for in hopes that people who are similar to me can relate and be inspired or encouraged. Writing isn't just about creating a "hit" song it's about being connected in our humanity." says Phillips
Bek has written and recorded with Jimmy Mcgorman (Avril Lavigne, Cassadee Pope, Michelle Branch, Cher, Weezer) and plans to bring McGorman's production talent to her newest EP due for release Fall 2013
Bek has opened for major groups The Backstreet Boys, Paula Deanda and Paper Tongues and most recently sang a duet with Romantic Piano Sensation Jim Brickman for his televised event "Celebration of the 70's". This year will bring many opportunities her way with a fresh EP, new video and new outlook on life. Bek Phillips has a bright future ahead.
